I’ve not treated myself to a new eyeshadow palette in a while and I thought why not? I saw on Twitter a while ago that Too Faced were rereleasing the Gingerbread Spice palette and it looked gorgeous. I’ve got the Chocolate Gold palette by Too Faced and the formulation of the eyeshadow and the scent is incredible so I knew that this one would live up to the same expectations.
I got the palette from Debenhams for the standard price of £39 and collected my beauty card points as well. If you don’t have a Debenhams beauty card they’re well worth it and it’s easy to collect a load of points which then cash out at £5 off vouchers.
Compared to my Chocolate Gold palette which I reviewed here, it has more of a plastic like tin feel to it and the mirror inside is a bit smaller. But apart from that, the way the palette is set out is almost identical. It also has a slight hint of gingerbread scent, but not too strong at all. The cute gingerbread man on the inside of the palette next to the mirror is also super adorable.
In terms of shade ranges, there are a few more mattes than there are shimmers. Normally I tend to steer towards palettes that have more shimmery shades because I wear these on a daily basis and only ever usually use mattes in the crease. Sugar daddy and Lookie at my cookie are the perfect light pink matte shades and I adore the shimmer shades Hot toddy and Spiced rum. There are a few shades that work well in the crease and then some bright shimmers that you could use to go all out with.
The formulation of Too Faced shadows never fails to amaze me. The shimmers pick up so well and the mattes are vibrant and not chalky like they tend to be in high-end palettes. The names of the shades all relate to things like baking and Christmas because the tradition of eating gingerbread men and building gingerbread houses all relate round to Christmas!
Have you ever tried any Too Faced eyeshadow palettes?

Oooh there’s some really lovely shades here. I also tend to steer more towards shimmers too!

Chocolate Gold was my first one from Too Faced! I have been on the fence about either getting this or the Clover one (if it’s still around) but you’re starting to sway my opinion, haha. I can’t wait to see what looks you come up with! XO❤ Canvas of a Face
