A few weeks ago I was having a conversation with someone and they rated my Spotify playlist (not very high, may I add) and it gave me the inspiration to rate my Twitter followers playlists! Everyone has such different music taste and I wanted to see what hidden guilty pleasure songs some people have lurking away.
Playlist 1; CRYBABY EH? by Jasmin
Jasmin sent over her Spotify profile and let me pick one to rate so I decided to go with the one called CRYBABY EH? which I’m assuming from the title is a classic sad song playlist, listen here.
Standout songs;
- Oasis- Wonderwall
- Olivia O’Brien- Hate u Love u
- Daniel Powter- Bad Day
- Plain white Tees- Hey There Delilah
Newly discovered songs;
- Ruth B- Lost Boy
- Dani Sylvia- Enough
Overall thoughts & rating; ♫♫♫♫
To start off the ratings this was a pretty good playlist. Some emotional songs and some iconic songs and very few disappointments! I added a few songs from this one onto my current playlist so for that reason Jasmin’s playlist gets a 4-star rating!
Playlist 2; SHOWER PLAYLIST by Brianna
Brianna linked a few of her playlists but I chose to rate her shower playlist. With over 150 songs, more than my everyday playlist, I spent a while going through the songs. Listen to it here.
Standout songs;
- Billie Eilish- Idontwannabeyouanymore
- Julia Michaels- Issues
- Alicia Keys- No one
Newly discovered songs;
- Billie Eilish- Idontwannabeyouanymore
Disappointing songs;
- James Arthur- Say you won’t let go
- Selena Gomez- Bad liar
- Bridgit Mendler
Overall thoughts & rating; ♫♫♫
Brianna’s playlist was actually the first time I properly listened to a few Billie Eilish songs which I actually really enjoyed since I’d written her off as overrated before I gave her a chance. I loved a few of the old school throwbacks like Big Girls Don’t Cry by Fergie and Love Song by Sara Bareilles but the reason it only gets 3-star rating is because of the extremely overplayed and annoying songs I can’t stand anymore listed in the disappointing songs!
Playlist 3; Pop Playlist by Benny
Benny sent over a playlist called Pop Playlist which you can listen to by clicking here.
Standout & rediscovered songs;
- Sugarbabes- Hole in the wall
- Shakira- Waka Waka
Disappointing songs;
- The Band- The night they drove old dixie down the road
- Anything Katy Perry (except for the song Dark Horse)
Overall thoughts & rating; ♫♫
Benny’s playlist was basically a massive cheese board with the amount of Katy Perry it hosted. Can you tell I’m not a fan of her? Nonetheless, there was also quite a lot of Avril Lavigne, some bangers including sk8er Boi and Girlfriend. An absolute standout which is pulling up this rating is Waka Waka By Shakira. It brought back memories of learning the dance routine from the music video when I was in Primary school.
Playlist 4; Walk like badass by Grace
Grace linked me her profile and she had a few playlists to pick from but the Walk like a Badass enticed me the most! I was hoping for some feel-good anthems and I was not disappointed.
Standout songs;
- Fifth Harmony- Work From Home
- Big Sean- I don’t Fuck With You
- Arctic Monkeys- Do I Wanna Know
- 5sos- Good Girls
- Miley Cyrus- Can’t be tamed
Newly discovered songs;
- Red Hot Chilli Peppers- Can’t stop
- The Offspring- You’re Gonna Go So Far, Kid
- Daya- Thirsty
Disappointing songs;
- Meghan Trainor- No Good For You
Overall thoughts & rating; ♫♫♫♫
This was hands down my favourite playlist out of all the ones I listened to. Song after song I wanted to put in the standout songs. Little Mix featured on there who I love, there was a bit of 5sos which is a little throwback to my earlier teen years! Meghan Trainor featured on there a few times which meant I couldn’t give 5 stars but I found it hard to dislike many songs. A solid playlist which I’m now going to download!
Huge shoutout to Grace, Benny, Jasmin and Brianna for letting me rate their playlists! Let me know if you’d like me to do another instalment.

Oh you’d have a field day rating mine… it’s one long mishmash of music from the 70’s all the way up to now. An eclectic mix, we’ll call it x
