Nothing is more important than the makeup you chose to wear a date night, right?
I was kindly offered a few makeup products to pick out from Chemist.co.uk to put together the perfect date night makeup look featuring some big brands like Bourjois and Ardell.
I think the first essential to any makeup look is a good primer. You want to make sure your foundation stays all day, or night, long without the worry of it creasing or coming off. From Chemist.co.uk I picked out the Bourjois Blur The Lines primer, retailing at £8.99. I own one primer which I do love but struggle to find ones that don’t feel oily like the Benefit Porefessional does. This comes in a little pot and feels really smooth on the skin, but not oily. It makes your skin feel so soft without that typical oil feel.
I’d never go on a date without lip balm or a lipgloss. I find liquid lipsticks quite uncomfortable on my lips and if I wore lipstick I’d be worried about touching it up throughout the date. My go-to lip balm is Carmex which I own in the cherry flavour and the original. I did decide to pick out the strawberry flavoured one because I’ve not actually tried that one, safe to say it smells amazing. For the lipgloss, I decided on the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Gloss in a really pretty pristine nude (no. 10). It’s a super sheer, glossy nude and isn’t uncomfortable on the lips. If I could rock a red lip on a date then I’d never play it safe with a gloss.
For me, a staple everyday makeup look involves eyeshadow so of course, a date night look would also include eyeshadow. I was gifted the Ardell Matte Eyeshadow Palette which costs £8.99 and has 12 perfect matte shades. I’m a shimmer eyeshadow kind of girl which explains which I had near enough no matte palette’s in my makeup collection. I thought that this palette would be perfect to create an eye look that wasn’t too out there and something quite simple.
The final thing I was gifted was the Manicure Eyelash Curlers with a soft grip. Eyelash curlers are perfect for getting lashes to look a little more dainty and I find they do a great job at lifting my lashes. Especially for a date I know i’d want my lashes to look cute and as long as possible because I find that to be such a good feature and to make the look complete!
The final look for my date night inspired makeup included the top row of the eyeshadow palette with a gorgeous light gold shimmer shade from a Colorpop palette along with the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and the Benefit Bad Gal Bang. I also used the lipgloss which gives a really sheer pretty glossy look and underneath my foundation, I used the Bourjois Primer which actually felt so nice!
What kind of products do you rely on for a date night? I’d love to know!

I always forget about eyelash curlers! I think mine naturally curl up though 🤔. My go-to’s are eye liner and mascara, always in a date/night out (but I don’t really wear eyeliner all the time).

My favourite item out of those you’ve mentioned is definitely the eyeshadow palette. I love how you can create both subtle and out-there looks with it; I’d love to create a smokey eye using the black and some of the darker, matte colours. I’m definitely more of a matte person than a shimmer girl, but I do like to add a little bit of sparkle across my lids, so this would really cover all bases. I love the idea of the primer, too; I’m struggling with oily skin for the first time in my life (that is somehow still dry at the same time), so I need a new primer, and this one looks perfect. I’ve never had one in a pot before, so that’s super intriguing!

You look lovely by the way! These products look awesome and it’s great that they’re all affordable too. I’ve just run out of Benefit porefessional so I’m in need of a new primer, thanks for the recommendation. Some really great products there!

I’m the same when it comes to lip balm – I never leave the house without one! Loved this post, and the palette has such a beautiful range of colours. x

This is a gorgeous look! My favorite part about putting makeup on is choosing a lip color (: I’ve gotta organize my collection soon haha

I actually had no idea that Ardell did actual makeup products, I thought they were just lashes! The top three shades on that palette are soo pretty, though. I usually use a tinted lip balm when going on a date night as it usually involves eating, I find a lip gloss a bit too sticky for me personally!!
