In January of 2018 I did a blog post where I set myself some goals, rather than new years resolutions. Now it’s 2019 I thought what better way to start the year than the reflect upon the goals I set myself and see how I got on.
Be more organized with blogging:
The first goal I set myself was to rectify how organized I was in terms of blogging. I ended up getting a new notebook where I planned and scheduled content a few weeks in advance and I was seeing slight changes in my organization. I then won a giveaway where I got a blogger planner from Paperchase and that really motivated me. I used the calendar bit to plan blog posts months in advance, drafted out blog posts in the notes section, kept track of my stats and even filled in pages of things I got gifted or if a post was sponsored! Over the summer it really motivated me a lot but towards the back end of the year, I slowly lost my organization, although I’m still working to get it back.
Improve my photography
I personally think my photography for blogging has improved, the first photo is from January 2018 and then the last photo is from November 2018, a 10 months difference and I love the improvement. My earlier photos lacked props and are just so bland and plain. I’m happy with how my photography has gotten better and it shows that improvements have been made.
Gain more followers
This is one I can safely say I achieved, but to reiterate it was never about the numbers. I said that I’d love to achieve 1,000 blog followers by the end of 2018 and I ended up reaching it in the summer of 2018! Now it’s the start of 2019 I’m just a little under 200 followers away from 2,000 and I can’t quite believe and will always be thankful for my growth.
Connect with more bloggers
My favourite goal that I set myself was to connect with more bloggers and I did that! Me and Beth grew our friendship, I spoke to a few new bloggers including the lovely Mike and I even met up with the amazing Melanie in Birmingham twice and she’s the loveliest human ever!
I can’t wait to see what 2019 has to bring for my blog!

Ahh it sounds like you did well with your goals!! I started off the year really organised too but I lost that with moving country. 2018 was a whirlwind but now that it has settled I am going to get that organization back!! Good luck with 2019, you got this girl!! xx

I love this post! I think there’s something so nice about being able to look back on what you’ve set yourself and compare where you are now to where you are then. It’s always nice to see improvements too. I’ve set myself to be more active within the blogging community so I hope that I can achieve that too!
Great post to kick off the new year!

Happy New Year, Ellie ❤️ I’m so envious of your photography – I want to up my game this year and improve mine, too! And congrats on being so close to 2,000 followers, that’s amazing! My gain has been so slow, sadly. Hopefully I’ll be where you are one day ☺️
