I’ve never done a makeup look on my blog before because my skills aren’t great. Sometimes I get a good eye look and other times, not so good. I’ve been doing a combination of a few colours recently and I thought i’d share how I do that. I decided to call it the sunset look because the colours remind me of a sunset on a hot, sunny day when the sky turns pink and the glow of the sun looks glittery. For this look, I only focused on the eyes and didn’t do any kind of face makeup but if I was wearing this out then i’d do foundation, highlight and contour.
The main product I will always reach for no matter what makeup look i’m going for is the MUA Pro-base eye primer. It’s around £4 and holds the eyeshadow on the lids for such a long time. It’s important when you’re doing such a bold look that you have something that’s going to make sure the eyeshadow doesn’t budge and for me, this is the product.
The first palette of choice for the look is my favourite- Makeup Revolution Soph x Eyeshadow palette. The pretty pink shade at the bottom called Strawberry sweets is the main pink shade of this look which is going to go in crease and spread into the outer third. I used a fluffy blending brush by Morphe to achieve this. The colour is really pigmented so you need the lightest hand ever or else you’ll end up with a deep pink streak across your eyelid!
Once that’s blended in I go onto the main lid colour. It’s a gorgeous shimmery light gold kind of shade called cut from the Tarte shape your money maker eye & cheek palette. I put this over all of the lid and even into the outer third where the pink shade is. I like to use a flat brush so that it goes on easily- the one I used is an old one from Wilkinson’s! Once that’s on i’ll just add more pink if needed and make sure it’s all blended out.
The final touches is mascara and I used the Tarte Amazonian Clay smart mascara which is my holy grail of mascara’s right now for SO many reasons. I already curled my lashes beforehand and I apply about 3 coats to this to get a bit of volume and a lot of length.
I’ll finish the look with a spritz of the Urban Decay All nighter setting spray which I got as a sample a while ago.
I genuinely really love this look a lot and I figured out these 2 shades by just messing about with different colours. Please also excuse my Mom in the background and my eyebrows which need waxing again soon!
Don’t forget my social media;
I could not have read this at a more perfect time! I’m in need of a new eye primer soon. That tarte palette looks incredible too 😍. Loving your images here x
