You’ve all seen the trend on Youtube where boyfriends guess the products of girly products but i’d never seen it as a blog post until I read hollieblog854 post where she’d done it as a blog post. This inspired me to do a blog post and put my boyfriend to the test.
My boyfriend (Matthew) buys me quite a few different makeup items so I thought he might’ve done quite well… here’s what happened.
The first thing he guessed was this Visibly Clear pink grapefruit face wash by Neutrogena in the 150ml size. You can get this from places like Superdrug, Boots and most supermarkets and they all retail around the same price. The actual price was taken from Superdrug. With a difference of £2.51, it wasn’t a bad guess.
Moving onto the next product which is the Lottie London Slay all day liquid lipstick (in the shade #TBT) from Superdrug. I got Matthew to guess this one because I picked it for my birthday and he paid so I assumed he might’ve remembered the price- with a £2.50 difference that’s not too bad either.
When I told him the price difference he said “I was going to go for £6 originally, I just went with £8 because I felt you’d live a more lavish life ‘;)” HOW RUDE.
Next up is the Real Techniques Core Collection kit. The prices vary a lot, but at the time I did this the most common price was £14 on most websites. I think they might’ve been on sale but when I bought this many years ago they were around £20! The £9 difference was a lot more compared to the other two items- I guess he doesn’t realise brushes can be quite expensive. He then went on to tell me that they were only brushes and that they were a rip off.
My favourite palette ever is the Naked original palette so I got Matthew to guess the price and I was surprised at his guess… if only they were that cheap!
Another product he guessed was this Schwarzkopf got2b Instashine hairspray from Savers. He guess £12 and I gave him a little hint that it wasn’t that expensive but all he said was “Yeah I’ve seen hairspray and got2b”. Quite a bit of difference in the guess and actual price!
Finally, the biggest shocker of them all. These 3 Marc Jacobs perfumes (Daisy dream, Daisy & Dot) altogether cost £142.99. The staggering £87.99 price difference is huge. I guess Matthew doesn’t know female perfume. The packaging is probably my favourite thing ever!
I hope that you enjoyed this blog post, I know I enjoyed finding out what Matthew thought the prices are of these products!!
